Welcome To The Traditional Artists Guild

Our Master Artisans carry on ancient traditions as their spirit guides them. The Traditional Artists Guild holds this up as a gold standard when looking at work of artisans at any level.

The Traditional Artists Guild is a pluralistic group of artisans joined together with the common goal of sharing the knowledge and prosperity of their respective arts. Guild members acknowledge their ancient roots, the history that is behind every art genre and share this knowledge with the world through their art and education. The artisans uphold Guild policies that protect the genre as well as the individual artisans right to prosper without fear of appropriation or imitation by others. We study, learn and teach one another through blogs, articles and apprenticeships about each other's work. Through the Popular Education model we co-create our Guild as a dynamic force for artists rights. Mary Ellen Hillaire, PhD and Lummi tribal ancestor once said, "Acknowledge the significant differences; find the similarities within those differences and there dialogue can begin." Here we can explore the past and the future as it manifests in the present. Here we are diverse as well as one.

Apprentice, a student who has already begun working within a genre and wishes to further develop their skills with a highly skilled Master Artisan
